.The Art of the Moment: Buddhist Meditation Course with Lama Ole Nydahl - 11-12 October 2008

Diamond Way Buddhism opens the most skilful methods of the Buddha to the modern world. Using them one learns to experience the world from a rich and self-liberating viewpoint. Its meditations unfold the deep inner richness of mind and lead to a balanced, unwavering mind. They help us to discover and finally express all our enlightened qualities for the benefit of all beings as well as ourselves.
During this two-day course, Lama Ole Nydahl will give teachings on buddhist meditation practice as well as general buddhist topics, particularly focusing on the view and methods of the Diamond Way.
The morning session on Sunday will be guided by Student of Lama Ole and will allow asking more questions.

Teachings of Diamond Way Buddhism 23 April - 21 May 2008
A course hosted by Diamond Way Buddhism Liverpool
This series of five lectures provides a profound introduction to Buddha's teachings, with particular focus on Diamond Way Buddhism of the Karma Kagyu Lineage. The explanations will refer to the classical text "The Jewel Ornament of Liberation" by the Great Kagyu Master Je Gampopa, a text from the early 12th century that is revered by all lineages of Tibetan Buddhism and is still relevant today. Gampopa said about this text:
For anyone who wishes to see me, studying The Jewel Ornament of Liberation is the same as meeting me.
All lectures will be given by the experienced buddhist teacher Peter Malinowski.

.Zen Meditation for Beginners - 9th & 16th February 2008

We will be holding a short course for people who are either completely new to Zen practice or who have not been practicing for very long. It will run from 9.30am to 4.30pm on two consecutive Saturdays in February. The course will be led by Paul Evans and Andy Scott, both experienced Zen practitioners, and will cover both the essentials of Zen meditation and some basic Buddhist teachings.
Cost: £25 for both days (includes zazenkai fee for second Saturday) including vegetarian lunches.

Stonewater Sesshin with David Scott Hoshi - 17th & 21st February 2008
Hosted by Liverpool Zen Group at Stonewater Zendo in the Lake District
Starts with supper at 6pm on Sun 17th and we sit 8pm. Finishes on Thursday 21st after lunch (about 2pm), although there will be a small amount of tidying up to do (although please do stay later for afternoon walk etc if you wish).
Timetable will be usual sesshin but with tweaks to leave extra space in afternoon for walking. Interviews, talks and Big Mind. Dress: Rakusu if you have one, but not robes. Silence from 7.30pm evening before to end of lunch next day. See Stonewater site for map and address.
